A large size Cizhou jar with wide rim. Unlike the narrow rimmed jars that were used for ricewine, the wide rimmed ones were used to store rice and grains. Age: second half 17th C. up to first quarter 18th. Jars in this size almost always show damage from use; here it’s a vertical crack with an associated (filled) hole. Height 59 cm, diameter 41 cm
