A sandstone kang stone, used to close the oven's firing gate. Shanxi province, Gaoping or Changzhi county, 18th or 19th century. One side is decorated with a rabbit or hare, the other side is plain. This kang stone with the typical wide ends probably stems from the 18th C. Dim.: WxDxH 41x14x28cm.
