A sandstone kang stone, used to close the oven's firing gate. Shanxi province, Gaoping or Changzhi county, 18th or 19th century. The frontside is decorated with a roundel with a dragon’s head among clouds, the back is plain. This “C” shape with protruding ends is not often seen. Dim.: WxDxH 39x10x24cm.
