Pair of chairs that can be grouped with the family of the so called southern official's hat chairs. Shanxi province, later 18th century, northern elm with original brown-purplish lacquer. Dim.: LxDxH 56x44x54/107 cm The corners between the backrest and the seat have once been adorned with small ornaments wich are missing. Old repairs at the joints of the back. Nice old, yet unrestaured condition.
