Pair of yokeback chairs without armrest. Shanxi province, 2nd half 18th century. Elm with the original brown-purplish lacquer. Dim.: LxDxH 48x37x51/116 cm. These chairs without armrest were more for daily and common use than the pairs with armrest. The size of the seat is relatively small so they were more easy to handle. The iron reinforcements at the corners and over the joints also indicate intensive use. Good condition yet unrestored. Small pieces of the aprons under the seat are missing.
